Between now and April 12, write in your Maine favorites in as many of the following 65 categories as you like. We'll put the most nominated entries on a multiple-choice ballot for the final round of our Best of Maine Readers' Choice poll in May!

The Butterfly Barn

The Butterfly Barn is a thrift store started by two sisters, Helen and Sophie Caverly, seeking to honor the memory their late brother Levi Caverly. Community donations make it possible to keep their prices extremely low, with most items being $2.50 or less. They do a big sale at least once a month, usually a $1 sale or a bag sale of some kind. Their heart is geared towards helping the community. They have partnered in the past with New Hope Midcoast, and frequently bring excess items to The SOS room or other clothing resources in the area. Our hope is to bring affordable options back to The Community we love, to honor our brother’s memory, and to make thrifting fun again!
